Whistle a Happy Tune

I remember that song from The King and I.  Another old song circa 1940’s that my mom used to sing along with Bing Crosby and the Andrews Sisters–

Accentuate the positive
Eliminate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative
Don’t mess with Mr. In-between

Those songs and the Jimmy van Heusen/Sammy Cahn song, High Hopes which was made more popular in the TV series Laverne and Shirley about the ant moving the rubber tree plant were always among my favorites.

More recently, Defying Gravity from the play Wicked, has become another favorite.

Why?  Because they help me keep a positive attitude, even on days when I feel weak and tired.

When your thoughts turn negative or when you feel a little down, and maybe even depressed, happy music will help turn things around.
