Pray without ceasing
– 1 Thessalonians 5:17
As a child growing up in a Christian home, I always wondered why we had to pray. If God was everywhere and knew everything, then why was it necessary?
I like the answer given by Sophy Burnham. We pray so that the angels know what we want. One minute of surrender in prayer gives them the opening which enables them to give us what we need. In order to do their work of serving us, they need the energy of our thoughts. It finally made sense to me.
