Meditation and your immune system

I know that my condition has improved since I began meditating.  My muscles are not stronger, but my endurance is much better.  Part of it is because I am more mindful of the  movement of my body, which results in me being more aware of when it is time to stop and rest.  I also found it easy to change my diet, reducing sugar and alcohol with little effort – a miracle of sorts.

In his article on meditation and your immune system, Deepak Chopra mentions a study which showed that meditation may have actually reduced the  pro-inflammatory gene expression in my muscles.  It also explains why I rarely get sick.  I learn something new everyday!

Thank you for posting the link to the article by Dr. Chopra. I believe it. Bob and I have a regular meditation practice (in addition to a generally healthy lifestyle) and we went through the winter without getting the flu that was raging around us. In fact we didn’t even have a cold. 🙂
