Organic Beef Patty Recipe

000_7974

When I switched from regular ground beef to organic grass fed ground beef, it took me a few tries to get a beef patty with a flavor we liked that would not fall apart on the grill.  Finally, we had some burgers this past weekend that both I and my husband were happy with.

  • 2 lb. organic grass fed ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion, minced
  • 1-1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1-1/2 tsp sea salt
  • dash of turmeric
  • dash of cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 c bread crumbs
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 2-1/2 TBSP water
  • 1 TBSP olive oil
  1. mix breadcrumbs, baking soda, and water and set aside
  2. place all other ingredients except the olive oil  in a large bowl
  3. add breadcrumb mixture and stir
  4. place in container and pour olive oil over the meat mixture – let sit in fridge for at least 4 hours or overnight
  5. form patties and freeze or cook
